After only picking up 5 points in their last six games Nissan were looking for an improved performance against lowly Washington FC. Manager Wilf Constantine dropped three players from the side who drew with Dunston Fed. Cogdon and Wells relegated to the bench and Ben Ryan out of the squad. Washington, with the advantage of the wind took the game to Nissan and almost took the lead after 10 minutes when Brooking shot narrowly wide the same player forced a great save from Newton. Nissan were having a lot of possession but were unable to create anything in the final third. It was Washington who created the most clear cut chance of the first 40 minutes when Brooking crossed for Sheardown to head down for Novak but his effort was scrambled to safety by Newton and Leon Ryan. In the last minute of the half a defence splitting pass from Radigan found Tait inside the 18 yard box and he struck the ball past Wilson in the Washington goal. Tait increased the lead on 50 minutes when he lobbed the keeper from 15 yards out. Nissan were well on top at this point but wasted a number of chances to increase the lead. In the 65 minute a suberb piece of interplay between Tait and Walklate set up Walklate to score the third goal. Washingtons only real chance of the second half came when Ryan miskicked a pass to Stephenson and Sagers rann onto the loose ball only to fire his shot high and wide. Tait completed his hat trick with a well taken goal near the end.

Tait (3), Walklate

"A deserved win against a resilient Washington team. The result was better than the performance. We continue to make defensive errors which against better opposition have cost us, today we got away with it on another day who knows? "
